
A 30-thousand viss of brass gong which will become the world’s biggest gong will be cast to mark the 200th Anniversay of Mingon Bell, said ten religious titles holder Mingon Dhammazedi Sayadaw Bhaddanta Nagaindalankara, the patron of Dhammazedi Foundation of Dhammazedi Pariyatti Buddhist Monastery. The lifespan of Mingon Bell has reached its 200 anniversary on 5th Waxing Day of Kason Month, 1369 ME. As a commemoration of 200th Anniversay of Mingon Bell, a huge gong will be moulded with over 30 thousand viss of brass. This new gong will become the world’s biggest artifact. “Our Dhammazedi Foundation is now preparing to cast the world’s biggest gong with over 30 thousand viss of brass in commemoration of 200th Anniversay of Mingon Bell. We are now collecting the brass. We have already got 12,000 viss of brass. The cast will be started in early Thadingyut Month of 1371 ME. The weight of brass has been regarded as the symbolic words of “Sate Taung Ta Te Ataing” (Perfection of wish) which represents the numerical version of 37771,” said ten religious titles holder Mingon Dhammazedi Sayadaw Bhaddanta Nagaindalankara, the patron of Dhammazedi Foundation of Dhammazedi Pariyatti Buddhist Monastery at Mingon Hillock. The newly created brass gong will be displayed in lotus-shaped religious edifice that will be constructed in the precinct of Dhammazedi Pariyatti Buddhist Monastery at Mingon Hillock, and the well-wishers may contact the Dhammazedi Foundation for donation.
